About the Project
Flowlance is a concept platform designed for modern freelancers who juggle multiple clients, projects, and payment streams at the same time. It aims to centralise everything that usually lives across emails, spreadsheets, chat threads, and invoicing tools into one organised workspace. The product is positioned as a control center where freelancers can see their pipeline, ongoing work, and earnings in a single, easy-to-understand view
The Challenge
Freelancers often struggle with fragmented workflows: client conversations in messaging apps, tasks in separate tools, invoices in another system, and no clear picture of overall workload or cash flow. This fragmentation leads to missed follow‑ups, delayed payments, and a constant feeling of being reactive instead of in control. The challenge was to create an interface that brings together clients, projects, tasks, and payments, while staying simple enough to use daily without adding extra friction.
The Strategy
The strategy focused on turning Flowlance into a structured yet flexible workspace. The experience is built around a few key modules client management, project boards, payment tracking, and analytics so users always know where to go for a specific action. A component-based design system supports over 40 reusable elements and 50+ app screens, ensuring consistency as the product scales. Clear dashboards, status chips, and prioritized actions help freelancers quickly see what needs attention today: upcoming deadlines, overdue invoices, or new client requests. Surveys and early feedback (10+ surveys) informed which flows mattered most, such as onboarding new clients, tracking project stages, and logging payments wasted spend.
The Results
The final concept presents Flowlance as a focused productivity hub where freelancers can manage the full lifecycle of their work from a single product. The UI balances clarity and depth, giving users high-level summaries while still allowing them to drill down into individual clients, projects, and transactions. As a portfolio piece, it demonstrates strong skills in product thinking, workflow design, dashboard UX, and building a scalable design system tailored to the needs of independent professionals.
