About the Project

Vagabond is a self-initiated travel product concept created to support modern travelers who want everything for their trip in a single app. Instead of switching between booking platforms, maps, notes, and ticket emails, Vagabond aims to centralize inspiration, planning, reservations, and daily itineraries. The app is designed to feel like a smart companion that understands a traveler’s preferences and turns complex trips into simple, guided journeys.

The Challenge

Travelers often face fragmented experiences: one app to search places, another to book stays, separate tools for tickets, maps, and day-by-day plans. Important details get lost in email threads, screenshots, or chat messages, and it becomes hard to keep track of timings, confirmations, and backup options while on the move. The challenge was to design an all-in-one travel app that keeps everything organized yet enjoyable, supporting both trip planning before departure and quick decision-making during the trip.

The Strategy

The strategy for Vagabond was to structure the product around the entire travel journey: discover, plan, book, and experience. The interface uses clear sections for destination discovery, saved places, itinerary building, and reservation management so users always know where each piece of information lives. Strong visual hierarchy, travel imagery, and clean typography make the UI feel both aspirational and easy to scan on the go. Interaction patterns focus on reducing friction—such as quick-add cards for itinerary items, unified trip overviews, and contextual suggestions based on the current day or location—so travelers spend less time managing logistics and more time enjoying the trip.

The Results

The resulting concept positions Vagabond as a comprehensive travel hub that can support everything from weekend getaways to longer adventures. Users get a single source of truth for their plans, including dates, reservations, must-visit spots, and daily routes, all wrapped in a cohesive and polished UI. As a portfolio piece, this project highlights strengths in end-to-end product thinking, multi-step journey design, mobile UX for on-the-go contexts, and visual storytelling for the travel domain.
